Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Supports Vivli

Cambridge, Mass. – The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation has awarded a grant to Vivli, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit, to support its work building a first-of-its-kind data sharing and analytics platform for clinical trial research. The innovative platform will include a data repository, analysis tools and a dynamic search engine. It will provide transparency and access to clinical research data from around the globe to break data out of existing silos. The ultimate aim of Vivli is to accelerate scientific discovery to improve human health.

“Researchers, study participants, and doctors rely on clinical research studies to determine which therapies are safe and effective. It is therefore critical that they are able to easily share what they are learning and to build upon each other’s data,” said Betsy Myers, program director for medical research at DDCF. “We are proud to support Vivli’s work building a secure platform that allows and encourages researchers to do so, and excited for how it will ultimately support the quality of medical treatment and patients’ lives.”

On Dec. 6, Vivli will be offering the first public sneak peek of the platform at the MRCT Annual Meeting at the Harvard Faculty Club in Cambridge, Mass. This important milestone moves Vivli one step closer to completing the platform build.

“We are grateful for the timely support of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation,” said Dr. Rebecca Li, Vivli Executive Director. “This support allows us to quickly move to launching the platform in 2018. The foundation’s financial backing shows that it supports the work and direction of Vivli.”
