Project Manager

VIVLI, the Center for Global Clinical Research Data, is seeking a Project Manager. Vivli is a mission-focused non-profit, and to help manage our continued growth we are looking for a project manager to lead delivery across our grant-funded programs, platform projects, and internal initiatives.

Location: Remote, working core hours of 9am-5pm Eastern time zone, with the ability to travel 3-4 times per year.

Salary: Commensurate with experience

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading projects from initiation through closeout across grant-funded programs, software and platform work, and internal operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of projects through to formal closeout, maintaining project documentation and tracking in Jira and Confluence.
  • Deliver software and Vivli platform projects alongside the product manager, owning scheduling and delivery.
  • Track deliverables, milestones, and budgets across grant-funded programs, and prepare funder reporting to deadline.
  • Manage external commitments and agreements with funders, data contributors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate governance bodies and serve as the day-to-day point of contact between technical, operational, and program teams.
  • Identify risks early, escalate them in writing, and communicate scope or timeline changes before deadlines are missed.
  • Lead internal tooling and process improvement projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals.

Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, IT, project management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years managing projects in health, science, or IT-related fields
  • Experience running projects through conception to formal closeout, including the documentation each stage requires.
  • Experience delivering projects with software or technical components.
  • Proactive ownership of timelines: surfacing blockers early and keeping stakeholders aligned
  • Proficient maintaining project documentation and tracking work in a ticket-tracked system such as Jira and Zendesk, and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Strongly Preferred

  • Project management on software development projects, ideally in a Product Owner role owning scheduling and delivery.
  • PMP certification or equivalent experience.
  • Managing external commitments and agreements with funders, contributors, and vendors.
  • Experience with the clinical data sharing ecosystem
  • Familiarity with software delivery artifacts: requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test cases, and release planning.
  • Experience in academic, industry, government, or research institutions.
  • Grant or contract management experience.

Nice to Have

  • Building, supporting, and enhancing AI-assisted workflows in a regulated context.
  • Understanding of clinical trials processes and/or clinical data management.
  • Knowledge of GDPR.
  • Technical and grant writing experience.
